Use the ABA Website - Members Section
If
you entered the ABA website as a member of the public and selected ‘swarm
problems’ on the first page (home page) then a page with information about bee
swarms would appear. This page has a text box on the lower page where you may
enter a post code. If you entered ‘2119’ then the message ‘FREE SWARM
COLLECTION – call Dave (based at Beecroft …’ would appear along with messages
from other beekeepers who are prepared to collected swarms from 2119. This
information is set in the ‘members’ section of the website.
From
the main page of the website select ‘members’ from the left-hand side menu in
purple. To gain access the member’s page you must enter your username and
password.

Is the text box where your username is entered. The username is case sensitive so if the correct username
is ‘D.Wilson’ then neither d.Wilson’ or ‘d.wilson’ or ‘D.WILSON’ will be correct.

Is the text box where your password is added. Typically it a four digit number like ‘1234’. If you
don’t know your username or password then check under your name and address on
your mailing envelope from the

Clicking on this word will take you to pages of
information reserved for

This checkbox must be ‘ticked’ if members of the
public who enter one of your swarm collecting areas postcodes are to see your
swarm collecting message. Clicking on the button with alternatively make it
“ticked” or make it “clear”.
If it is not “ticked” your
swarm collecting message and postcodes are not lost – they are just not visible
to members of the public. Have enough swarms for the season or going on
vacation? Just click this button so that no green arrow shows and your message
will be not available to the public. Ready to collect swarms again? Click the
button until the green tick appears and your message will again be visible to
the public.

This is the text box where you enter your swarm
collecting message. The message must indicate your home suburb and must not
contain commercial information such as pest extermination services.

You must click this command bar update the web
database with your current settings. It should be pressed if you click the
green arrow checkbox, add or change your swarm message or add or delete some
postcodes.

This is where you type in your post code you wish to
add.

Press this command bar to add the postcode to the
list of postcodes on the right hand side.
(9)
This is a list of your postcodes for swarm collecting
areas. Clicking on the ‘select’ button for an individual postcode highlights
the text and the post code selected appears next to the text ‘post code
selected’.
(10)
This command bar deletes the selected postcode from
your list.
(11)
Press this to return to the first or home page of
the website.
Remember that if you make
any changes, additions or deletions you must press (6) to makes those changes permanent.
