ABOUT THE NEPEAN BRANCH OF THE AMATEUR BEEKEEPERS’ ASSOCIATION

Where? In the Nepean High School grounds (behind the sports grounds), Great. Western. Highway, Emu Plains. Approximately 10 minutes walking from the railway station.

Note! The school also keeps cattle so keep the main gates closed at all times and leave other gates as you find them, please.

When? We meet on the second Sunday of the month from nine thirty till about three. Except on Mothers day and other special days, where we shift the meeting to the third Sunday.

What do we do? We have informal meetings.
We have an instruction session; a general discussion session; and a question and answer session where we address problems encountered by our members; followed by a practical session where you get a chance to put in practice things previously discussed.

Somewhere in between we have lunch which you are expected to bring yourself. Tea and coffee is available throughout the day, using a hot water urn.

Bring your own protective clothing if you have any.

Membership runs from Jan1st till Jan 1st the next year. Membership costs $50.-- plus a joining fee of $10.-- plus individual liability insurance $40.— (increasing, if you have more than 19 hives). (These fees may increase over time).

As a member you may borrow the club extractor, foundation maker or embedder.

We maintain the beehives for the school and the club. We extract when necessary, for the school, and our club hives.
We teach all facets of beekeeping as and when requested.
