Southern Highlands

The Southern Highlands’ Apiarists Association welcomes anyone interested in beekeeping in the Southern Highlands and surrounding districts.

The club aims to support all beekeepers, irrespective of their level of expertise. Our yearly calendar of events is a balance of practical field days and talks by experts in their field. We help members to keep up with current beekeeping trends, be aware of disease threats to hives, and generally share experiences. Novices through to beekeepers with years of beekeeping experience are welcome. The club has its own Langstroth hives and a top bar hive which we inspect at regular intervals.

The club holds regular field days as the seasons allow, along with hands-on workshops to, for example, make up boxes and frames. Membership offers access to ABA newsletters and optional beekeeping Public and Product Liability insurance.
