Blue Mountains Beekeepers club was launched in November 2018 to support amateur beekeepers and encourage interest in honeybees and native bees in the region.
BMBK meets in the Workshop Room of the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre, Parkes Street, Katoomba (above Coles and opposite the BMCC Library).

We have the Workshop Room at the Cultural Centre booked for these dates through to the end of the year.
Saturday 3 August
Sunday 8 September
Saturday 5 October
Saturday 2 November
Saturday 7 December
Wherever possible we schedule meetings for 10.15am on the first Saturday in the month. When Cultural Centre facilities are not available, our next option is the first Sunday of the month.
Blue Mountains Beekeepers thanks Blue Mountains City Council and the Cultural Centre for their tremendous support, and for generously hosting our club hives and meetings.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Our club offers new and experienced beekeepers, as well as bee enthusiasts, a chance to get together once a month to learn, share experiences and hear from a range of guest speakers.
Each monthly meeting aims to include a guest speaker, a general discussion session, beekeeping news, a question-and-answer session where we address problems encountered by our members, and a practical session where members get a chance to inspect our hives in the Cultural Centre garden and carry out seasonal beekeeping tasks.
Tea, coffee and snacks are available at the Cultural Centre Cafe. Or you can bring your own.
Beekeeping protective clothing is essential if you wish to get involved in opening the hives. Please bring your own.
Membership runs from 1 Jan till 31 Dec. Membership costs $20 plus a compulsory ABA Membership fee. Optional Public and Products Liability insurance is available to members for an additional fee.
