Hawkesbury Beekeepers Incorporated meet at 7pm on the first Friday of each month at the Hawkesbury Earthcare Centre on Western Sydney University's Hawkesbury Campus at Richmond.'
We usually hold a hands-on field day on the Sunday following our monthly meeting.
We support and welcome anyone with an interest in bees.
We have a great mix of people interested in both honeybees and Australian native bees.
We meet and keep our bees at Hawkesbury Earthcare Centre, which promotes organic gardening and sustainable living. As Earthcare is located on the Hawkesbury campus of Western Sydney University, we are uniquely placed to learn about the latest bee research projects.
We also volunteer to assist with research projects being carried out the Wheen Bee Foundation's research apiary, including a research project conducted by Dr Diana Leemon, from Agri-Science Queensland, that is looking at the development of an external lure and trap for small hive beetle (SHB).
